Our bodies have not changed since prehistoric times. Our environment changed greatly, with food constantly available, little effort needed to get it. As for getting used to a particular activity, that would explain why I can bike to Hollister, Oakland, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and Half Moon Bay. I joined a gym two days after my bike ride to Hollister. This is mainly for strength training. The cardio remains outdoors on my bike.

It wasn’t random. You have poor grammar, a problem which is more than likely directly associated with your ignorance, also by which is demonstrated by your brash statement about Americans.

2000-2500 cal will typically break even for someone with a normal lifestyle who doesn’t do hard workouts. A good amount of cardio can compensate for 1000 cal easily (takes 1-2 hours a day though, depending on intensity)

Of course you’ll do better if you stick to 1500 cal spread out during the day, plus about 30 mins of cardio every day, but it’s by no means impossible to lose weight on 2500 cal.

And more important than calories, I find, is making sure whatever calories you get aren’t from fat.

Oh. You have to measure your peanut butter when you’re on a diet? Here’s another tip: if you’re on a diet, STOP EATING PEANUT BUTTER!

    Geez. Americans. ;)

1000-1500 calories is a good amount to consume each day. As long as each meal is about 200-300 calories; made up of snacks and meals to keep your metabolism moving. 2000-2500 calories are too many for your body to burn off, you will end up gaining weight unless you are an athelete and require that amount of food per day. i’m not sure where you heard 2000-2500 is a recomended amount if you want to lose weight
